Lash Degreaser – The Perfect Tool for Eyelash Extension Application

Lash degreaser is one of the most important tools in every lash artist’s kit. Why is it so crucial?

For eyelash extension application, the lash hair must be completely clean of oil/grease, because oil is acidic and prevents the adhesive from bonding properly to the natural hair. If oil remains on the hair, the adhesive cannot attach to it – this is why you may have experienced the lash hair slipping during application. Acid + acid does not react! Therefore, it is important that the lash hair is neutral or alkaline before applying the adhesive.

How the Degreaser Works:

The degreaser completely cleans the lash hair of oil and neutralises the hair so that the adhesive can bond securely and quickly.

  • Usage: The degreaser should be applied immediately before lash application, after lash cleansing and gel pad placement. If the client has active oil secretion, this process can be repeated during the work to ensure a good bond.
  • Important Information: The most active oil secretion occurs from morning until noon, so it is important that degreasing is done precisely before application and, if necessary, during the procedure.

How to Use:

  • Micro-brush and wooden stick – Apply a drop of degreaser to a micro-brush (make sure the micro-brush is not too wet).
  • Cleaning – Use the micro-brush to clean the lash hair from the root area upwards, especially the root area where the extension attaches.
  • Use 2–4 micro-brushes for each eye, as the brushes can quickly become oily.

The degreaser is alcohol-based and compatible with all adhesives. After use, allow the alcohol to evaporate for a few minutes so as not to speed up the adhesive’s drying.

Why Use a Degreaser:

  • Ensures a secure bond for eyelash extensions.
  • Cleans off oil so the adhesive can cure accurately and permanently.
  • Reduces the risk of slipping and ensures perfect results.

If you want your eyelash extensions to be long-lasting and high-quality, a degreaser is an essential daily tool!
